Story of Y2K, PM Modi told in his speech

Prime Minister Modi addressed the country amid Corona virus lockdown. During this, he gave the signs of Lockdown-4 and told many things. During this, he presented an interesting fact. Said- Today the whole world is confident that India can do something good for mankind. When the Y2K Crisis came out in the beginning of this century, it was the IT researchers of India who helped the world out of it. 

After all, what was Y2K? 

This word Y2K once again forced the mind to be stressed. Actually it was the biggest crisis in the world of computer technology. The world was entering the 21st century from the 20th century. 

At the same time, this issue came up, which led to the feeling that the computer communication system would be affected and computers would be destroyed all over the world. The reason for this was Y2K (Y2K bug). In fact, it was enough that after the end of the century, there was a problem of computer date changes and it was a big loss for business, technology, research and all fields. 

First let's understand, what is Y2K representing

 Y2K's Y year (year), then 2K 2000. After the initial phase of electronic computing, 2 digits were used instead of 4 to represent the year in computer systems almost all over the world. The year 1999 was to end in early 2000, but computer systems around the world were not able to change the year from December 31, 1999 onwards. 

Systems that entered the date back 100 years could change the date and month for the next year, but the first digits could not be changed except for the last two digits of the year, and thus the date 01/01 appeared on computers on January 1, 2000 / 1900 remains the same. That is exactly 100 years behind the times. For this reason the 'Y2K' bug is also called the 'Millennium Bug', which was a type of computer coding flaw. 

There was a big crisis in America-Europe

All computer calculations in America were fixed in the format of month-to-year (MM-DD-YY). The year was only in double digits, so after 1999, when 2000 came, all the dates would have changed to 01-01-00, but all computer related services would go back exactly 100 years. In that period many computer experts It was said that computers do not have enough programs for the 21st century, so they can collapse. Many computer programs on which the economy depended were going to fail. 

These could have been losses

 In a country with both these superpowers, systems had become based on computer technology. Banks could be unable to carry out bank checks or transfers, and governments could do their day-to-day operations. Power grids would fail and all the services dependent on them could be disrupted, even navigation satellites etc. could be halted. 

Everybody got their eyes on the India

by that time IT companies like Infosys, Wipro had started. Those who were ready to spend IT's competent human resources around the world, they had the best talent pool in the world. This was the reason that during this time the attention of companies of America and Europe went towards India. The skillful youth of India also did not disappoint them and made them believe their strength all over the world.

 India took off in the field of technology

 Like Infosys, IIS Infotech was one of the more than 100 Indian software companies that were engaged in the work of fixing the Y2K bug of multinationals. 

After this, the tech companies of India flew high and the technology students of this place started to be considered iron. India's IT and service exports started in 1999 and reached record levels by 2010, breaking all predictions. 

Then India solved such problem 

IIS rewrote the code to make the software compliant with Y2K. IIS Infotech created a bluechip list of its overseas customers, including Citibank, American Express, G.E. And large American companies such as Prudential.

 In most of the advanced countries, the help of Indian software companies was taken to fix the changing era of the 20th century to 21st century and the 'Y2K' bug problem. After this India emerged as a big IT power and waved its glory.
